EXPO*MOËS*M.E.C
Over the last 20 years the Decauville Railway Museum
has built a nice and unique collection of 8 Moës diesel locomotives of different types, a one cylinder B engine and a 4 cylinder shipdiesel. Besides engines and locomotives we try to
collect as much historic data, documents and pictures as possible. The Moës collection will be transfered to and exhibitedin the Mechanisch Erfgoed Centrum (Mechanical Heritage Centre) M.E.C in
Dronten, the Netherlands later this year.
In the years to come we will try to extend this collection and hopefully find some more interesting examples.
This page is under development. In a later stage all pictures are linked to detailed information about the locomotive and its history. With lots of pictures of the technique, repairs and hopefully the machines working on rails!

MOËS overige voorwerpen en objecten
Ashtray made of sanenwood. With a metal inlay MOËS logo. The ashtray is made by Gerling Solingen-Ohligs, Germany. Imprinted in the ashtray: Impac Okapi Ohligs.
Ca. 1930-1960
Invented & mostly manufactured in Germany, Sanenwood was a contemporary of Bakelite, both very early urea based plastics.
Sanenwood is made from very thin strips of timber or powdered wood pulp, soaked in urea formaldehyde resin & heated under pressure to set the form. It is much less brittle & more
malleable & flexible than Bakelite.
It was often given a grained effect & has the natural glow of polished hardwood.
